Die CO₂ Performance Ladder in Irland
Das zweijährige Pilotprojekt der CO₂ Performance Ladder in Irland (2023–2025), geleitet vom rish Green Building Council (IGBC) in Zusammenarbeit mit der SKAO, wurde erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Das Pilotprojekt hat gezeigt, dass die Ladder im irischen Kontext sowohl umsetzbar als auch wirksam ist – und dass sie eine bedeutsame CO₂-Reduktion im Bauwesen vorantreibt.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) war der erste Auftraggeber, der die Ladder als Wertungskriterium einsetzte. Die Ergebnisse des ersten abgeschlossenen Projekts waren beeindruckend: eine Reduktion der Scope 1- und 2-Emissionen um 84,5 % und 311 Tonnen eingesparte CO₂e. Drei Unternehmen – Roadstone, Jons Civil Engineering und Colas JV – haben inzwischen eine unternehmensweite Zertifizierung erlangt.
Aufbauend auf diesem Erfolg hat TII die Ladder in drei neue vierjährige Rahmenverträge integriert, und IGBC bereitet eine breitere landesweite Einführung vor, unterstützt durch Construct Innovate. Mehrere weitere öffentliche Einrichtungen haben starkes Interesse an der Einführung der Ladder bekundet.

Colas Joint Venture is the first company in Ireland to achieve a company-wide Level 3 certification on the CO₂ Performance Ladder. In this video, Colas explains why they chose the Ladder, how it supports their sustainability strategy, and the changes they have made in their operations — from switching to renewable fuels to introducing Ireland’s first fully electric Impact Protection Vehicle.
